“Activities or where the rubber meets the road! What your library does, every day, week, month, or year. This is the kind of action that the customers see when they come into your library. These are the actions that your staff does routinely, the individual things that have made your library what it is today and what it will become in the 21st Century.
You might ask, “Why does a strategic plan need to be so detailed as to list staff activities?” The answer would be, “That is the only way to ensure that what your staff does, each individual activity, contributes to the mission.” Also, the only way to ensure that library resources are being applied toward accomplishing the mission is to make sure that those are applied to the specific activity that contributes to an objective to achieve a goal.” [Pg. 51]
